The CAP’s Mohammed Mahmoud & Marcus Shapiro talk about the operation of the Central Arizona Project.

Explains the states and basin that make up the CAP. Managing the different allocations of water, negotations and policies. What it takes to move water thru the systems thru pumps and gravity.

Discussion of the CAP at the intersection of the Salt River. Called the interconnect facility where the CAP and Salt don’t actually intersect. They explain the syphon draw technique.

Mohammed explains the computer models he looks at for projections to deliver the water needed from various sources.

Starting Tier Zero in 2020. Part of the drought contingency plan. Explains that it shouldn’t change water supply much thanks to conservation and never have taken the total allocation.
