- In Arizona we have more wind than rain during Monsoon season. Make sure wind can pass through your trees. Keep the tree thinned out and be careful with weed eaters.

- Best time to use pre-emergent is before our two wet seasons, late winter and early spring. Two times a year: Sept/Oct and Feb/March.

Sumac - Tom wants to know how he can tell if him Mulberry Tree is male or female
- How much sun is that tree getting and is it getting enough water? Check to see how deep the water is going. You need about 2in. of water per week. Measure water and look at shade.
- That split can still be fixed. You can prune it, cable or bolt it. Integrity Tree Service can help!
- If you Mulberry Tree has fruit it's a female, otherwise it's a male.

Caller:- Ed wants to know how to kill the grass in his rock landscape
- John Jay suggests Round Up or High Yield Kills All. Make sure it does not get on a desirable plant.
- Once the grass is dead, lay rock on it and use pre-emergent two times a year.

Caller:- Irene wants to know suggested material for a walkway and who she can use for this job.

Callers:- Mike needs a new roof after recovering from the monsoon. He wants to know if he needs to use a foam, flat or overlay roof?
- Rosie likes the foam roof. It is seamless and can last you with a reseal every couple years. Durafoam Roofing, Pinnacle Roofing and Lyons Roofing all do foam and can come out and inspect the roof for you.

Caller:- Todd has a GFC outlet that was blown by a mower plugging into the same outlet.
- Flora has 12 x 12 tile and wants to know about removing grout and pushing tiles together, then re-grouting with a pattern
- Romey and Rosie let Todd know that it's time for a new GFC outlet. If that is not the problem, you can call anyone of our Rosie Certified Referral Network Electricians who can check it out for you.
- Rosie suggests cleaning the tile and color grout seal the tile and that effect can look like you have a brand new floor.

Caller:- Kathy has rust spots coming through the Stucco on the outside of the house. Her frame home was built in 1996. These spots seem to be coming from areas exposed to the sun.
- Rosie thinks it is non-galvanized nails that were used when building the frame. He suggests a good power wash, Elastimeric caulking, then a coat of acrylic paint.

Caller:- Phil bought a new house and put grass in the backyard. There are now swarming gnats in his yard. What can he do?
Commentary:
Nathan from Blue Sky Pest Control answers our questions about:
- Bedbugs- Do not transmit diseases, they just bite. We can have bedbugs and not even know we have them. Bedbugs come out at night and they like to stay close to humans. Be most aware when you have guests from out of town. How to eradicate bedbugs? Heat or Control techniques. You can see bedbugs, they are about the size of a tick.
- Gnats: Do not over-water. Cut back on the water. If that doesn't help, there may be other contributing factors to these swarms. Call Blue Sky to come out and remedy other factors that are contributing to this problem.

Caller:- Vicki has black bugs. How does she get rid of these pests without harming her puppy?
- How to identify what your pest is: Where do they congregate? Do they all of a sudden appear or a problem from the past that re-occurs?
- How can you exterminate your pests and still keep the kids and pets safe? Using the proper product for the proper pest, Blue Sky can provide a solution that is effective and safe!
- Rosie talks about hitchhiking bugs picked up by traveling-What do we do? Nathan says as a traveler, put your luggage in the bathroom. Most bugs will live in the bed. Put your shoes up in the bathroom as well. Check the seam of the bed for bedbugs by lifting the mattress. They are about the size of an appleseed. If you find them, let the management know!

Caller:- Skip wants to know about using the heat treatment to eliminate bedbugs.
- Lana has flying black roaches. What can she do?
- Lena has pincher bug problems.
- Black tarp can be heated in the sun and placed on bed. Also, check the headboard.
- Reduce unnecessary nesting sites in the home. Have a pest control treatment on the outside. You can knock out the nest before it becomes a problem.
- Pincher bugs need moisture to thrive. Check the patio slab where it meets the grass, that is a classic place to hide. Do a treatment approach to the outside in high moisture areas.

Caller:- Kris wants to know what are the best bug sprays to use that will be safe with the kids and pets? She wants an indoor/outdoor product that will do it all.
- Nathan recommends Demand SC or Psychic as good products to use!
- Do not over apply or over mix the product. This can reduce the affect of the product.
- Blue Sky recommends Termidor for ELIMINATING termites!
- Termidor is a non-repellent. Termites will be attracted to it, share the poison with other termites and kill them all!
- How to treat termites! We love Termidor and Nathan agrees! It's proven, we recommend it, bait canisters are a waste of money.
